Edit the Galaxy table

Postby linuxx on August 7th, 2010, 9:46 pm

Is it possible there can be an edit to the Galaxy table? The address field is too small to hold a decent sized host name, with a domain name. I have attached my edit to the table. I entered a host.domain.com name in there, and everything seems to work as intended.

This could be helpful with people that have advanced setups such as myself. I cant access my external IP address internally, so I need to access everything using names.

Hi Linuxx,

rather then going external then coming back on your self to get access to the server, you can add another galaxy with an id of 3, and have the internal IP as it's destination, but regardless of the workaround, it's definitely something we can update and fix, I'll push a change to the repo as soon as I can...

Snow,

Thanks for replying, and thanks for all your hard work. I was going to try to create a another record with a different IP (the internal IP), but I noticed that my characters had a "galaxy_id". Additionally I noticed "ClusterId = 2" within the connection server. Assuming both would cross reference the galaxy_id that was in the galaxy table. Regardless, using names seems to work (with my internal DNS server pointing that name).

No rush on the change, I have edited the schema of my SQL table.
